Awareness Programme on Human Rights (10.12.2022)
The National Service Scheme of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal celebrated “National Human Rights Day” on 10.12.2022. In this regard, Mrs. S. Sindhulakshmi, Lawyer, Namakkal District Court, Namakkal delivered on the topic of “A brief introduction of human rights in India”.
Delivering a talk on human rights issues, Mrs. S. Sindhulakshmi pressed the need for creating awareness among students about their basic rights and standing for all human values. Also, she elaborated the human fundamental rights like right to equality, right to freedom, right against exploitation, right to freedom of religion, cultural & educational rights and right to constitution remedies.
Dr. M.Sasikala, NSS Programme Officer (Unit 1), Trinity College for Women welcomed the gathering.
Dr. M. R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College highlighted the importance of human rights for students’ community.
Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College brought out the concept of “what are human rights and why are they important? .
Mrs. S. Jayamathi, NSS Programme Officer (Unit 2) extended the vote of thanks.
Dr. B. Vishnupriya, Assistant Professor in Tamil and also more than 100 students of NSS took part.
