Dengue Awareness Programme
The National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club in association with the department of Physical Education jointly organized a one day awareness programme in the title of “Fight Dengue… Save Life” (டெங்குவை எதிர்ப்போம்…… உயிரை பாதுகாப்போம்) on 12th July 2023 in the College campus.
Dr. V. Paulselvan, Treatment Medical Officer, Government Primary Health Centre, Konur, Paramathi, Namakkal District and Mr I. Selvam, Block Health Supervisor, Namakkal Block, Namakkal District, to address the students, reiterating the proverb “Prevention is better than cure” (வருமுன் காப்பதே சிறந்தது). Also, they explained the cause, symptoms and cure for dengue disease. Apart from this, these special invitees participated in the oath event and made students pledge on taking efforts to maintain clean surroundings.
Mr. S. Jayakannan, Mr. K. Rajaganapathi, Mr. P.S. Gowtham and Mr. S. Sangeeth, Health Inspectors, Primary Health Centres, Konur and Namakkal and the staff members of health departments in Namakkal surroundings attended that programme.
Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College, presided over the programme. Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic, highlighted the importance of precaution of dengue fever. The NSS Programme Officers Dr. M. Sasikala, Mrs. S. Jayamathi, the RRC Programme Officer Mr. V. Gokila and The Physical Directress of the College Mrs. V. Archana and 100 students benefited through this programme.
The YRC Programme Officer Mrs. V. Kalaivani proposed the vote of thanks.
