Students participation in the international conference
The postgraduate and research department of zoology at Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Government Arts College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a one-day international conference entitled “Recent Development in Frontiers of Biological Sciences” (ICORD-FBS 2023) on September 22, 2023.
Dr. M. Govindaraju, principal of the college, presided over the conference. Dr. G. Sharmila Banu, AP and HOD in Zoology at the College, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Jiang Shiou Hwang, Professor, Institute of Marine Biology, National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung, Taiwan, was the chief guest, and he delivered the topic of “Studies on the Newer Technology in Marine Organisms.” Dr. K. Pughazhendy, Associate Professor in Zoology, University of Madras, Chennai, offered his felicitation address.
Dr. Ramesh Krishnamurthy, Professor and Head, Department of Landscape Planning & Management, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, delivered the topic of one health approach for nature conservation and the well-being of people.
Dr. Prithivi Nagarajan, Principal Scientist, Immunophase, Biotech Ltd., Shanghai, China, delivered the topic “Molecular perspective on starfish tissue extracts: targeting human carcinoma KB cells for anticancer therapy.” Dr. Ramakrishna Naika, Professor and Head, Department of Crop Protection and Sericulture, College of Sericulture Chintamani, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, and Dr. N. Sakthivel, Scientist-D, CSGRC, Government of India, Hosur, also spoke on that occasion.
Dr. R. Bhuvaneswari, Dr. M. Meenambal, Dr. A. Malathi, and Ms. R. Latha, faculty of Zoology, NKR Government Arts College for Women, Namakkal, also talked at that conference.
Mrs. R. Rupa, Assistant Professor and Head, and Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, took part in that occasion. Our Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, had four students of Nutrition and Dietetics, and two faculty members of that department also participated.
