International Conference of the Tamil Department
The postgraduate and research Department of Tamil, Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science), Namakkal, Tamil Nadu state has conducted an international conference entitled “Tamilogy from a Cultural Frame of Reference” பண்பாட்டு நோக்கில் தமிழியல் ) on September 20, 2023, in the Trinity Auditorium of the College.

Dhayalan, Transport Director, Trinity Academy Educational Institutions, Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal and Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic spoke on that occasion.
All the participants have presented their research articles in the venues of Dr. U.Ve. Sa. Hall, Ramalinga Adigalar Hall, Kavimani Hall, Maraimalai Adigal Hall, Thiruvika Hall, Namakkal Kavignar Hall, Bharathiar Hall, Bharathidasan Hall, and Dr. Va. Suba Manickam Hall.
The honorable Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University, Prof. Dr. V. Thiruvalluvan, was the chief guest. Birth is not in our hands. The special invitee, Mr. M.M. Jayaseelan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Tamil, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, pointed out the role of Tamilians in our society’s development. There are many differences between the present-day syllabus and the previous 50-year-old syllabus. Previously, our ancestors, Tamilians, studied Tamil subjects. They focused only on grammar and literature. Today, Tamil has been developed in the areas of computer Tamil, technology Tamil, science Tamil, translation Tamil, etc., he indicated.
Humanity is the renaming of culture. The era of women’s slavery was over. Today, our women have successfully achieved success in many areas. Kavignar R. Thanikodi, lyricist, Tamil Cinema Industry, elucidated.
Today’s society is developed in many fields due to the enhancement of women’s education, Dr. J. Raja, Associate Professor in Tamil at Periyar Arts College, Cuddalore, illustrated.
The faculty members and students of Tamil have arranged an exhibition in the Trinity Auditorium. Our ancestors utilized products like herbal medicines, Siddha medicines, agricultural implements, wood production, pottery, natural snacks, fruits and legumes, brass, copper, bronze, and wood products, measuring instruments, ancient currency notes and coins, musical instruments, cosmetia, small grains, five types of land, ornaments, and bamboo products. They were also attracted to the audience.
