Demonstration programme of the CDF department
The Department of Costume Design and Fashion, Trinity College for Women, Namakakl, conducted a one-day workshop entitled “Care and Maintenance of Singer Basic and Overlock Sewing Machines” on October 26, 2023, in the CDF laboratory.
Mr. K. Gowtham, proprietor, Singer Executive Dealer, and proprietor, Dinesh Agency, Salem Main Road, Namakkal, was the special invitee.
He elucidated that how to thread is function in a sewing machine, techniques of cleaning the sewing machine, fitting the needle correctly, availability of options in the sewing machine, demonstrating the functions of the sewing machine, an overview of the overlock machine, delivering the techniques of threading, procedures and working mechanisms, and so on. All the students of costume design and fashion eagerly took part.
This programme was organised by the faculty of the CDF department: Mrs. K. Punitha, Ms. K.P. Theepika, Mrs. A.P. Pavithra, and Mrs. R. Shanmugapriya.
