Programme on “Empowering Female Entrepreneurship in the Apparel Industry”

The Costume Design and Fashion, in association with the internal quality assurance cell and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a one-day programme entitled “Empowering Female Entrepreneurship in the Apparel Industry on January 12, 2024, on the college campus. Mr. S Sivakumar, Director, Revathy Tex (Sarees Manufacturer and Seller), 234, Sivan Kovil Street, Murugur, Thuraiyur Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District, was the special invitee.

At present, women’s roles are very important in the textile industry. The textile and garment industries are largely dependent on women. Many women are doing entrepreneurship and working in high positions in the field of garment industries in the leading textile cities in India, such as Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Varanasi, Bhilwara, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Bhagalpur, Malda, Kota, Aurangabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, etc. Opportunities are boundless. Kindly utilise the entrepreneurial chances with the help of the government’s financial assistance, he said

This programme was organised by the faculty of Costume Design and Fashion, Mrs. K. Punitha, Ms. K.P. Theepika, and Mrs. R. Shanmugapriya. Apart from the students of Costume Design and Fashion Design, other department students also took part.
