The office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trade Designs and Trade Marks, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has given a patent right to all researchers. A patent is a vital intellectual property right that safeguards new inventions and non-obvious discoveries. It is crucial for academics, research, start-ups, and industries to prioritise patents as a means of fostering innovation.
In this regard, our faculty members of the department of Costume Design and Fashion, Mrs. K. Punitha and Ms. K.P. Theepika, got the patent rights from the above-mentioned government organisation.
