Awareness Program on “Eating Habits”

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, in association with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted an awareness program on “Eating habits among college students and its association with BMI (body mass index)” on March 1, 2024, on the college campus. Ms. P. Apurva, Community Nutritionist, Kandhapuri, Reddipatti, Namakkal, was the resource person. The aim of the event was to emphasize the significance of good nutrition and a proper diet for remaining healthy and free from chronic malnutrition. Ms. P. Apurva had an interactive session with our students and sensitized them on the significance of a nutritious and balanced diet, the role of nutrition in development and growth, and strengthening in their academics. Mrs. R. Rupa, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, welcomed the gathering. Mrs. V. Sowmiya, Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics at the College, proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of the College, was also present. More than 200 students benefited from this program.
