Zero balance Savings Account Opening Campaign

A savings bank is necessary for students to get a government educational scholarship. Especially, the Government of Tamil Nadu has been given Rs. 1000 per month for female students who have completed their school education (from sixth standard to twelfth standard) either by the Government or Government-aided under the Pudhumai Pen scheme of the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Girl Student Scholarship.

As per the guidelines of the state government of Tamil Nadu, these savings accounts should be operated by nationalized banks, particularly the State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, or Indian overseas bank.

In this regard, the National Service Scheme, in association with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a program entitled ‘Opening of Zero Balance Savings Bank Account—Campaign—with the support of Indian Bank, Namakkal Main Branch” (Indian Bank, Namakkal Main Branch, 31, Rangar Sannathi Street, Namakkal) on July 18, 2024, on the college campus. Many students benefited from this camp. They have submitted their passport-size photo(s) along with the Aadhar Card and other address-proof documents. The NSS Programme Officers, Dr. M. Sasikala and Mrs. V. Gokila, The Director of Physical Education Mrs. V. Archana and the Coordinator of UBA Cell, Mrs. S. Hemalatha, made arrangements.
