Celebrations of International Literacy Day
On account of world literacy day (08th September), the department of Library, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal celebrated international literacy day on 09th September 2024. Dr. M.Selvi, Librarian and Mrs. P. Sathiya, Assistant Librarian, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal were the resource persons. The rural population of India represents 65 percent of the total population. In comparison with urban area’s education, literacy in rural areas is very low. Rural education has been affected in many ways, like improper infrastructure facilities, low investments, non-usage of modern technologies, improper guidance, etc., Apart from the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, all the well-wishers focus on giving good education to the rural and tribal students for their improvement of standard of living, they said. More than 100 students took part.
