Celebration of Bharathiyar’s 143rd birth anniversary
The postgraduate and research department of Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, celebrated Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s 143rd birth anniversary on 11th December 2024 on our College campus. Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College presided over the programme. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College, welcomed the gathering.
Mrs. S. Punitha, Head Master, N.S. Arumuga Udayar Government Higher Secondary School, Aniyapuram, Mohanur Taluk, Namakkal District was the chief guest.
She shared the information about the Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s, exemplary of Tamil Literature. Bharathiyar was a great Tamil poet, author, journalist, freedom fighter, social reformer and polyglot, she also pointed out.
Around 250 students gathered to celebrate the heritage of this great Tamil Poet.
The chief guest was introduced by Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Coordinator, Silver Jubilee Celebrations Committee. The faculty members of Tamil, Dr. T.K. Anuradha, Dr. R. Savithri, Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Mrs. K. Barathi, Dr. T. Geetha, Mrs. K. Padmavathi and Dr. N. Subalakshmi also took part. Dr. C. Gobiya, Assistant Professor in Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal proposed the vote of thanks.
