English Bridge course – 25.10.21 to 11.11.2021
Bridge course
English bridge courses are provided which outspreads the serving hand to equip the students with readiness for college life. The English bridge course is especially essential for newly admitted first year undergraduate students. In this regard, the PG & Research Department of English organized a bridge course from 25th October 2021 to 11th November 2021.
The contents of the syllabi were
AIM
· To bridge the gap between school and collegiate education to meet the students communicative requirements
OBJECTIVE
· To provide the learners a platform for expression and promote autonomy to think in the second language.
· To prepare the students for a classroom atmosphere in which English is the medium of instruction.
· To help the students acquire the basic LSRW ( Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills.

Ø Self- Introduction
Ø Telephonic conversation
Ø Role play
UNIT IV: WRITING SKILLS
Ø Formal and Informal letter
Ø Email writing
UNIT V: INTERVIEW SKILLS
Ø Before the Interview
Ø During the Interview
Ø After the Interview
Ø Body Language
All the first year students who are admitted during the academic year 2021-22 attended. The faculty members of English Dr. K.S. Dhivya, Mrs. P. Umabharathi, Mrs. G. Kannagi, Ms. S. Poornima, Mrs. A. Revathi, Mrs. L. Deepika, Mrs. S. Bharathi, Mrs. S. Malarkodi, Mrs. S. Sreevidhya and Mrs. R. Priyadarshini handled the bridge courses.
