Industrial visit of students of Trinity College for Women
The main aim of an industrial visit is to expose students to a practical working environment. Apart from the university curriculum, practical experience is needed for all students. In this regard, an industrial visit was organised by the NSS unit of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, on August 5, 2023. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal; Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, AP in Computer Science; Mrs. G. Kannagi, AP & HOD of English and Coordinator of Eco Green Club; Mrs. S. Jayamathi, AP in Tamil and Programme Officer, NSS Unit 2; Mrs. S. Hemalatha, AP in Tamil and Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell; and the volunteers of NSS have visited M/s. Thenpandian Spinning Mills (P) Ltd. (Unit 2), Avalnaickenpatti village, Puduchathram Block, Namakkal District.
Thenpandian Spinning Mills (P) Ltd. produces high-quality cotton yarn with sophisticated machines with a capacity of 21000 spindles.
The students of NSS and the deputed faculty members have seen the raw material godown, blendomet, comber, lap former, breaker, carding, finisher, ring frame, linkconer, yarn godown, and packing section.
Mr. T. Selvam, General Manager; Mr. V. Vishwanath, HR Manager; Mr. S. Pandian, Manager; Mr. M. Eswaran, Production Manager; and Mr. N. Nadhagoundan, Maintenance Manager, have explained how the modernised machines are working from raw materials to finished products.
Besides the University curriculum, the students also gain more practical experience by visiting factories. These practical exposures will be helpful for the student’s future jobs, Er. K. Nallusamy, Chairman, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, and the Managing Director of Thenpandian Group of Companies, Namakkal, denoted this Industrial visit.
