The Department of Chemistry, Sona College of Arts and Science, Salem organized a 2nd National Level Conference entitled “Recent Advances in Chemistry (RAC 22) on 07.11.2022 in the PG Auditorium of the College. Dr. P.S. Kalsi, Professor in Eminence, Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh (visiting professor, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat / Former Visiting Professor of Chemistry, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi/Former Professor and Head, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and Prof. S. Baskaran, Institute Chair Professor, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu were the resource persons.
Mr. C. Valliappa, Chairman, Mr. Chocko Valliappa & Mr. Thyagu Valliappa Vice-Chairmen, Sona Group of Institutions, Salem, Dr. G.M. Kadhar Nawaz, Principal & Dr. R. Ramesh, HOD of Chemistry spoke on that occasion.
The various topics like Analytical chemistry, bio-inorganic chemistry, bio-organic chemistry, coordination chemistry, catalyses, electrochemistry, environmental chemistry, green & sustainable chemistry, materials chemistry, natural products chemistry, organometallic chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, polymer chemistry and stereochemistry were discussed in that national level conference.
