Event on “Empowering an entrepreneur way of thinking in students”
The Entrepreneurial Development Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal & Periyar University Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Programme Hub (PU-IEDP HUB), Periyar University, Salem in association with Post Graduate and Research Department of Commerce of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal organized an offline event in the title of “Empowering an entrepreneur way of thinking in students” on 11th December 2021. Mr. P. Logeswaran, Alumni – University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, United Kingdom was the resource person. Entrepreneurship education has emerged as a demanding subject to be mastered by young students. With each passing year the jobs are getting limited because of numerous reasons like technical advancements, population growth and the introduction of machine power in all fields. Entrepreneurship options can be seen as a significant career option among the current generation, he said.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell & PU-IEDP – HUB in association with PG & Research Department of Commerce & Department of Computer Science organized an event in the title of “Necessity of women handicraft entrepreneurs to our healthy society on 19.11.2021. Mrs. K. Punitha, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Costume Design and Fashion, Trinity College for women, Namakkal was the special speaker.
She explained the various entrepreneurship in the handicraft industries like woodcraft, paper craft, pottery, jewelry, glass crafts, textiles, appliqué, crocheting, embroidery, felt-making, knitting, lace making, macramé, quilting, tapestry art, weaving, etc.,

The Departments of Costume Design and Fashion & Nutrition and Dietetics in collaboration with Periyar University Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Programme Hub (PU-IEDP HUB), Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Institution’s Innovation Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal jointly organized a one day event in the title of “Entrepreneurial Carnival – Exhibition cum Sale” (Food, Textile & Cosmetics Festival 2022) on 11.02.2022 and 12.02.2022. It was held in the premises of Trinity Auditorium. All the first year undergraduate and postgraduate students of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal were exhibited dress materials, cosmetic items, food items, etc.,

Periyar University – EDC Coordinators Meeting
SPOKE COLLEGES – Entrepreneurship Development Cell Coordinators Review Meeting (2022) was held on 3rd March 2022 in the premises of MBA seminar hall, Periyar University, Salem. This review meeting was organized by the Periyar University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Programme HUB (PU-IEDP-HUB) and Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (An autonomous Society of the Government of Tamil Nadu), Chennai. Prof. Dr. R. Jagannathan, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Periyar University, Salem presided over the meeting. Entrepreneurship Education creates opportunities, ensures social justice, instills confidence and stimulates the economy, he said.
Shri. Sudharkar Vaidyalingam, Chairman, CII (The Confederation of Indian Industry) State MSME (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) Panel – Tamil Nadu & Managing Director of Balaji Rubber Groups, Salem was the chief guest. Entrepreneurship plays a major role in growing the economy particularly in reducing unemployment and poverty. We need an employer not an employee. A successful entrepreneur must not only have technical knowledge but also have good soft skills, updating current developments and encouraging and motivating the employees of the firm, he denoted.
