Celebration of national constitution day 

National Constitution Day was observed at Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, on 26th November 2024,  to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution.  

 Mrs. S. Jeyamathi, Assistant Professor in Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal delivered the topic titled “Bharat Ratna – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar  – Father of Constitution of India (பாரத ரத்னா – டாக்டர் பி ஆர் அம்பேத்கர் – இந்திய அரசியல் சாசனத்தின் தந்தை) .

This programme was held through the virtual mode of Google Meet. 

Mrs. S. Jeyamathi addressed the students of the College and highlighted the significance of Constitution Day and requested all the participants to strictly follow and adopt the constitutional rights and every person must take part in building the nation in true spirit of the constitution.  

In addition, to commemorate this event, a pledge taking ceremony was held on that day, to celebrate as the constitution day.   The pledge was administered by Mrs. S. Jayamathi.   The pledge was “I, as a citizen of India, affirm my faith in the universal principle of civilized society, namely that every dispute between citizens, should be settle by peaceful means; and, in view of the growing danger to the unity and integrity of the country, I hereby pledge myself never to resort to physical violence in the case of any dispute, whether in my neighbourhood or in any other part of India”.   All the participants of the College undertook the pledge. 

Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Coordinator, Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Dr. M. Sasikala, NSS Programme Officer (Unit 1), Dr. C. Gobiya, Assistant Professor in Tamil, Dr. R.A. Anitha, Coordinator, Equal Opportunity Cell,  Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell and the faculty of the College also participated in that webinar.     More or less 100 students took part.

This programme was conducted by “Equal Opportunity Cell”, “National Service Scheme” and “Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell” of the College.
