Centenary Celebrations of Vaikom Satyagraha
On account of centenary celebrations of Vaikom Satyagraha (வைக்கம் போராட்ட நூற்றாண்டு விழா), the Department of Postgraduate & Research department of Tamil and in association with the Equal Opportunity Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal organized a one day elocution event in the title of “Periyar’s role in Vaikams struggle” (வைக்கம் போராட்டத்தில் பெரியாரின் பங்கு) on 19.07.2023. It was held in the premises of the science block, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal.

In this elocution competition, the participants highlighted how Periyar fought against untouchability and his role in Vaikkam’s struggle in the kingdom of Travancore, Kerala state. In this continuation, a felicitation function was held on 24.07.2023 in the College premises. All the prize winners and the participants are greeted by Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Dr. R. Savithri, AP & HOD of UG Tamil, the faculty of Tamil Dr. C. Gobiya, Dr. R.A. Anitha, Mrs. K. Barathi and Mrs. K. Padmavathi were also present. On behalf of Inner Wheel Club of Namakkal, The President Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, gave away prizes to all the prize winners.
