Workshop on “Rural Development”
On behalf of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Tamil Nadu State conducted a two-day event titled “Stakeholder consultative workshop on providing hand-holding support to village panchayats in preparation of village panchayat development plan,” held at SIRDPR premises, Maraimalai Nagar, Chengalpattu District, on November 25th and 26th, 2023.

The twin objectives of the panchayat raj, as envisaged by the Indian constitution, are local economic development and social justice. Village growth is our country’s growth. Each and every higher educational institution as well as non-governmental organisations should take the necessary steps to implement the village panchayat development plan, focusing on the localization of sustainable development goals, all the resource persons pointed out.
On behalf of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, Mr. M. Thillai Sivakumar, External Member of Internal Quality Assurance Cell & Director, Rathinasabapathi Environmental Rural Development Organisation—Non-Governmental Organisation (RERO-NGO), Namakkal, has participated, and he presented the UBA activities of the College for the past 2 years through the powerpoint presentation.
