Observation of World Water Day
Owing to the celebration of international water day, Eco Green Club, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a water conservation awareness programme on 22nd March 2025.
The theme of World Water Day for the year (2025) – “Glacier Preservation”.
Mrs. A. Thenmozhi, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, delivered the topic titled “Without Water….. The World Cannot Sustain”. (நீரின்றி அமையாது உலகு)
She said that on account of the increasing population, urbanization and deforestation, the need for more water sources was increasing and that several places across the state. Now, the month of March has started. Water scarcities are created in many places in Tamil Nadu state due to an inefficient water management system .
Water conservation and rainwater harvesting systems are needed. As citizens of India, we concentrate on saving water. Without water, we cannot live in this world, also she denoted. The Coordinator of Eco Green Club, Mrs. G. Kannagi, Mrs. V. Indirakumari, the faculty of Tamil, Dr. N. Subalakshmi and the faculty of Nutrition and Dietetics, Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi also took part.
