Thangam Hospitals and Cancer Centre, Namakkal, conducted an event titled “Blood Donation Camp and the Awareness Programme on “Donate Blood and Save Life” on June 13, 2024

Blood donation camp and awareness programme

Owing to the international day of world blood donation, the National Service Scheme of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, in association with M/s. Thangam Hospitals and Cancer Centre, Namakkal, conducted an event titled “Blood Donation Camp and the Awareness Programme on “Donate Blood and Save Life” on June 13, 2024. Mr. K.P. Mohan, Public Relations Officer, Uyir Thuli, Blood Bank and Research Centre, Thillai Nagar, Trichirapplli, was the special invitee. The speaker addressed the significance of blood donation and how donated blood is helpful for victims in an emergency. 

 From the age of 18 to maximum 65, we can donate blood.   Every three months we can donate blood.    Once we donate blood, we can save four people.    In comparison with men, women are behind donating blood.   There is no awareness among the females.    Blood donation is the best contribution to society, he said.    

Dr. K. Ramesh Kumar, Thangam Hospitals and Cancer Centre, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Mr. K. Surendran, Blood Bank Staff and Mrs. T. Selvakumari, Public Relation Officer, Thangam Hospitals and Cancer Centre, Namakkal also took part.   Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering.  Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Coordinator, Silver Jubilee Celebrations, the NSS Programme Officers,  Dr. M. Sasikala and Mrs. S. Jayamathi,  Trinity College for Women, Namakkal also spoke on that occasion.   Some of the volunteers of NSS donated blood to the blood bank of Thangam Hospitals and Cancer Centre, Namakkal on that day.
