Programme on Victory of Feminism (பெண்மை வெல்க) – 15.12.2022
The birth anniversary (11th December) of Tamil Poet Mahakavi Bharathiar was celebrated with fervor in Trinity College for Women, Namakkal on 15.12.2022. In this regard, the Post Graduate & Research Department of Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal organized a one day event in the title of “Victory of Feminism” (பெண்மை வெல்க) on that day. Mr. A. Pari, I.P.S., Inspector General of Police (Retired), West Zone (Coimbatore) was the special guest.
Bharathiar was a great Tamil writer, poet, journalist, Indian independence activist, social reformer and polyglots. Ms. Nivedita, a disciple of Swami Vivekanandar was the main reason Bharathiar wrote about women’s rights and women’s liberation. Bharathiyar’s poet line of “walk with you head high and look everyone in their eye, fearless because of innate integrity” (நிமிர்ந்த நன்னடை நேர்கொண்ட பார்வையும், நிலத்தில் யார்க்கும் அஞ்சாத நெறிகளும்) are needed for each and every women in our society. For a woman to rise to the leadership position, she has to overcome many hurdles. Speaking on stage is one of the leadership qualities. Our country has developed in many departments because women are getting higher education. Love your parents. Your parents are the ladder for your growth. According to the words of Bharathi, you should be created as an innovative woman and in consonance with Bharathidasan, you should be created as a revolutionary woman, he said.
Mr. P.K. Sengodan, Chairman of the College inaugurated the programme. Er. K. Nallusamy, Secretary of the College presided over the programme. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director offered her felicitation address. The chief guest was introduced by Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic of the College.
The faculty members of Tamil Dr. R. Savithri (HOD of UG Tamil), Mrs. S. Jayamathi, Dr. A. Latha, Dr. J. Barathi, Dr. B. Vishnupriya, Dr. C. Gobiya, Dr. P. Pradeepa, Dr. R.A. Anitha, Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Mrs. K. Barathi and the various department HOD’s and the faculty members attended that programme. More than 1200 students took part.
