Seminar on “The Reflection of Culture in Indian Writing in English”
The Department of English, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a one-day seminar entitled “The reflection of culture in Indian writing English” on September 12, 2023, in the mini-seminar hall.
Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College, presided over the seminar. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, and Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director, Academic, offered their felicitation addresses. Ms. R. Sowmika, II, M.A., English, Trinity College for Women, welcomed the gathering. The resource person was introduced by Dr. K. Keerthana, Assistant Professor in English at the college.
Mr. S. Karthik Raja, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English, PGP College of Arts and Science, Namakkal, was the resource person. Indian culture is one of the oldest and most famous amongst the other cultures in the world, established around 5000 years ago. Our Indian literature refers to an amalgamation of distinct cultures across all traditions, norms, values, beliefs, attitudes, customs, communities, and religions. Until now, the development of literary works in India and English has drastically enhanced, he denoted.
Ms. P. Sudheksha, a first-year M.A. in English, proposed the vote of thanks. Nearly 150 English students took part.
