The Department of Environment & Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu State, National Green Corps, Namakkal conducted an environmental education programme under the title of “Sustainable lifestyle for students – plastic-free Namakkal workshop” on 27th December 2024. One-day workshop on “Plastic Free  – Namakkal”

          The Department of Environment & Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu State, National Green Corps, Namakkal conducted an environmental education programme under the title of “Sustainable lifestyle for students – plastic-free Namakkal workshop” on 27th December 2024.   This programme is supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

This programme was held on the premises of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal.  

The main motive of the programme is to encourage students of the younger generation on the use of reducing plastics, recycling plastic, recycling plastics, using cloth bags and meendum manjappai.  

P. Raghunath, District Coordinator, National Green Corps, Namakkal District, Namakkal, was the special invitee.   He stressed the requirement for the plantation of tree saplings to safeguard our environment.  

            This programme was organized by “Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell”, (C-9496) Trinity College for Women.   

            The Executive Director Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, The Principal, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, The Vice-Principal Dr. R. Navamani, The Administrative Officer, Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, The Coordinator of Quiz Club, Dr. A. Latha, The Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Mrs. S. Hemalatha,  the village UBA Representative Dr. S. Revathy and the students of the college attended that programme. 

            On behalf of National Green Corps, Namakkal District, yellow cloth bags and Caps distributed to all the participants.
