Skill Development Programme
The Department of Postgraduate and Research Department of Computer Science, in association with the Placement Cell and Naan Mudhalvan Scheme, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organised an awareness programme entitled “Skill Development curriculum in Industrial Training Centres in Tamil Nadu state – An Overview” on August 2, 2023.
Mrs. M. Santhi, instructor, and Mr. P. Boopathi, Junior Training Officer, Government Industrial Training Centre, Thattankuttai, Keerambur, Paramathi, Namakkal district, explained the various advanced skill-based programmes like computer fundamentals, internet and tally, desktop publishing operator, computer operator and programming assistant (COPA), draughtsman (civil), electrician, mechanic auto body repairs, mechanic industrial electronics, and so on.
There is no age limit for female students to join these courses through the Industrial training centres. Various scholarship opportunities, like free education, free uniforms, free shoes, free uniform dresses, free laptop, free bicycle, free course instruments, special incentives Rs. 750 for every month, etc., are available in this training centre, they pointed out.
Mr. A. Parthiban, Instructor, and Mr. M. Prabhu, Junior Training Officer, Government Industrial Training Centre, Namakkal, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College, Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director-Academic, Mrs. V. Archana, Director of Physical Education of the College; and the final-year students of Computer Science and Computer Applications eagerly participated in that programme.
