EDC Programme

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, in association with the PU-IEDP-HUB (Periyar University Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Programme), Salem conducted a programme titled ““KARAIKUDI CHETTINAD HANDLOOM SARIS EXPO CUM TRADE” (FOR THE BENEFIT OF PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED HANDLOOM WEAVERS) on November 2, 2023, in the Seminar Hall.

Mr. P. Venkatesan and Mr. A. Velumani, Sales Representatives of M/s. SH 47, Chettinad Handloom Vasundhara Silks (Physically Handicapped) Producers Association, 14, Weavers Colony, Santhaipettai East, Karaikudi, Sivaganga District, arranged that programme on our college premises.

Owing to the upliftment of weavers who are physically handicapped in and around Karaikudi town, the EDC of our college planned to conduct that programme. They exhibited the various varieties of chettinad handloom saris like kandangi, sungudi, kalamkari, mangalagiri, linen, mulmul and iket.

Many faculty as well as students of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, purchased those sarees for the forthcoming Diwali festival.

Mrs. G. Nithaya, coordinator of EDC and Mrs. M. Rajapadmavathi, Assistant Professor in Commerce of our college, made the arrangements.
