Video Conferencing – Kanniyakumari – Thiruvalluvar Statue Silver Jubilee Celebrations
The Government of Tamil Nadu celebrated the silver jubilee of the Thiruvalluvar Statue on 31st December 2024 with a bomb and show. In this regard, the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin started off the programme on 30th and 31st December 2024.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated India’s first glass bridge over the sea, connecting Thiruvalluvar statue and Vivekanandar Rock in the Kanyakumari peninsula.
Apart from that, an exhibition was organized on 31st December 2024, as part of the silver jubilee celebrations featuring various photographs of Thiruvalluvar and Thirukkural explaining the particulars of the statue’s establishment in different phases, leaflets from Thirukkural and e-Books.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Udayanithi Stalin, The Honourable Ministers of Government of Tamil Nadu Mr. I. Periyasamy (Minister for Rural Development), Mr. E. V. Velu (Minister of Public Works), Mr. M.P. Saminathan (Minister of Information and Publicity), Mr. R. Rajendran (Minister of Tourism) and other Government Officials participated in that programme.
In continuation, on behalf of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, a live and telecast programme was organized on 31.12.2024 on the college campus. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Dr. S. Anidha, NODAL Officer, Dr. K. Gowrimala, UMIS Programme Officer, along with the students of the College actively participated.
