OBSERVATION OF NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY
The National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year on 14th December. The Institution’s Innovation Council, in association with the Eco Green Club, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted an awareness programme on 14th December 2024. It was held through the Virtual Mode of Google Meet.
Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College, presided over the webinar programme.
Mrs. K. Mekala, Assistant Professor in Computer Science & Coordinator, Social Media, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal was the resource person.
She addressed the gathering and shared her views on making students aware of weather changes, pollution, and global warming and supporting efforts towards saving energy resources. Also, she stressed the requirement for reducing generation of electricity through petroleum products and coal and shifting to renewable energy, like wind, biomass, solar, hydro, etc., In order to, energy may be conserved for future generations.
The coordinator of IIC of the College, Dr. A. Vijayasarathi made arrangements. Mrs. G. Kannagi and Mrs. V. Indirakumari, Coordinators of the Eco Green Club of the College also took part in that occasion. Nearly 100 students attended that webinar programme.
