Congratulations to Dr. Arasuparameswaran!
The Periyar University, Salem, conducted an event with the title of “Mahakavi Bharathiar and the National Liberation Movement” (மகாகவி பாரதியாரும் தேசிய விடுதலைப் போராட்ட இயக்கமும்) on August 10, 2023. Owing to the Art Fest on the 77th Independence Day, this programme was organised by the University officials.

Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director, Academic, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, was one of the special invitees. In this event, free fighter Mr. N.K. Perumal, Dharmapuri (Martyr of the Quit India Movement – வெள்ளையனே வெளியேறு இயக்க போராட்ட தியாகி), was honoured. Apart from this, Mr. S. Ilaindhiraiyan’s book on Sivakami Ammal -( இந்திய தேசிய ராணுவத்தில் சிவகாமியம்மாள்) in the Indian National Army was reviewed in that programme.

Jayaprakash, Librarian, Dr. R. Vasanthamalai, Professor in Tamil, and Dr. R. Subramanian, Associate Professor in Journalism and Mass Communication, Periyar University, Salem, spoke on that occasion.
