Programme on “Women Empowerment”
The Trinity Women’s Forum, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, The NSS of Government Law College, Namakkal, and District Legal Service Authority, Namakkal jointly conducted an awareness program entitled “Special Laws for Women” on January 31, 2024, on the college campus.
Dr. V. Kamaraj, Judge, District Consumer Forum, Namakkal District, was the special invitee. Women are the largest consumer group by numbers, yet their rights are not protected adequately. Women, particularly Indian women, are facing many problems in their day-to-day lives. We provide the basic needs like food and nutrition, safety with the usage of household appliances, providing the proper medical facilities, insurance facilities, and so on, he said.
Dr. B. Priya and Ms. C. Sumathi Swarnalakshmi, Assistant Professors and Programme Officers of the National Service Scheme, Government Law College, Namakkal; Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic, Mrs. R. Navamani, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of UG Computer Science; and the coordinators of the Trinity Women’s Forum, Dr. N. Santhi and Mrs. N. Thangamani, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, also took part. More than 200 students benefited through that programme.
