Inauguration of the Galaxy Sparkle Club, 2023
Under the auspices of the department of physics at Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, Galaxy Sparkle Club 2023″ was inaugurated by Dr. P. Sathya, Assistant Professor in Physics, Salem Sowdeswari College (For Women), Salem, on September 8, 2023. Also, she delivered the talk under the title “Optical Physics Facts. The sun is the natural source for the production of electromagnetic radiation. Rectilinear propagation of light is pinhole photography, the formation of shadows, and eclipses. This light travels from the source in a straight line. It cannot travel through an opaque medium, she said. Also, she elaborated on the radio wave, microwave, infrared, visible, UV, X-ray, and gamma-ray.
Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, presided over the programme. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, principal of the college, pointed out the importance of electricity and electronics in our day-to-day lives. Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director of Academic, highlighted the higher studies and career opportunities for the students of physics.
Dr. B. Lakshmi, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Physics, of our college, introduced the chief guest. The faculty members of Physics, Mrs. B. Kavitha, Dr. R. Sakunthaladevi, Mrs. S. Mohanapriya, Mrs. V. Kalaivani, Ms. K. Saranya, and Mrs. P. Gowthami, and the students of Physics (both undergraduate and postgraduate physics) took part.
