Good wishes to Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, Faculty of Nutrition and Dietetics of the College
Under the project of Integrated Child Development Services, the Department of Child Development, Namakkal conducted an awareness programme on 27.12.2024. It was held on the premises of Hotel South India Residency, Karur Bye-Pass Road, Velur, Namakkal District.
Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, talked on the topic entitled “Importance of weaning and supplementary food for infants” (from 6-months to 10-months-old).
Supplementary feeding is very important for infants’ health and nutritional well-being. Vitamins A & C, iron and protein are needed for infants. In addition, pulses, cereals, juices, fruits, soups, etc., are essential for infants because of their increasing immunity power. We focus on them for their future welfare, Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, pointed out.
Mrs. P. Vasanthi, Child Development Programme Officer, Paramathi-Velur, Namakkal District and the officials of the health department also took part.
